Crowborough Lions Thank Their Community

During the Pandemic lockdowns of last year and the current lockdown, we at Crowborough and District Lions Club have been unable to hold our normal events for both Community support and for the raising of funds to allow us to carry on with our charitable work. During this period, we have still been responding to requests for help from people severely affected by the lockdown situation and have provided goods and services to those in desperate need.

At Christmas we were very fortunate to be able to hold our annual collection around the Christmas tree in the town centre Piazza, which was carefully planned to comply with Social Distancing regulations. Although we reduced the number of days and collection times we found the people of Crowborough were very generous in their support and donations were made in excess of £700.00 over the period

Regrettably, we were unable to carry out our Christmas Sleigh rounds this year, but Crowborough Cabs came to our rescue with a generous offer to tour the streets of Crowborough with our sleigh, accompanied by Father Christmas. Once again the people were very generous with their donations, contributing over £400.00 to the collection. Crowborough Cabs met all the costs of the rounds themselves with all monies raised going direct to our Charity trust for Community support.

For this very generous support from everyone, we would like to express our most sincere thanks to all who donated at this difficult time and a very special thanks to Crowborough Cabs for their help and assistance and assure everyone that these funds will be used for the benefit of our Community.
